Raag Brindavani Sarang is a highly popular and melodious Raag belonging to the Kafi Thhat. It is characterized by the distinctive use of both Shuddha Nishad in the Aaroh (ascent) and Komal Nishad in the Avroh (descent). Since Gandhar and Dhaivat are completely omitted in both ascent and descent, its Jati is Audav-Audav. This Raag is traditionally performed during the midday (Second Prahar of the day), capturing the vibrant essence of the afternoon sun. It has strong roots in folk music and is deeply associated with the Braj region and the legends of Lord Krishna. The prominence of Rishabh (Re) as Vadi and Pancham (Pa) as Samavadi creates a refreshing, bright, and uplifting atmosphere. It is a versatile Raag, frequently heard in Khayal, Thumri, and devotional Bhajans.
