Raag Komal Rishabh Aasavari is a deeply emotive and somber morning Raag of the Hindustani Classical tradition. While traditional Asavari uses Shuddha Rishabh, this variant employs Komal Rishabh, placing it technically under the Bhairavi Thhat. It is characterized by its heavy, meditative, and soulful atmosphere, often evoking feelings of profound longing, pathos, and intense spiritual devotion. The Raag follows an Audav-Sampurna structure, where the notes Gandhar and Nishad are omitted in the ascent (Aaroh) but used in the descent (Avroh). The Vadi swar is Komal Dhaivat and the Samavadi is Komal Gandhar. The Raag is typically performed during the second prahar of the morning. Its melodic structure is known for the prominent use of 'andolan' on the Dhaivat, which lends the Raag its signature melancholic yet peaceful character, distinguishing it from related Raags like Jaunpuri or Bhairavi.
